The Fishing Lake
Our fishing lake nestles in an acre and a half of flora and fauna. This rustic wilderness lends itself as the home to an abundance of wildlife, including mallard ducks, moorhens, canadian geese and even the occasional heron fishing on the lake for fry. Over the years, we have introduced carp, perch, bream brown and rainbow trout into the waters. Bring your rods and enjoy a lazy day!
Camel Trekking Yes! Camel Trekking - there's a new experience. There is a camel farm nearby who offer camel trekking and more. Its a 3 hour unique dream not to be missed. Bookings are essential. Horse Riding
We can offer equine Bed and Breakfast. The local riding stables can no longer offer hacking out in the countryside, but can offer lessons in the school.
Cycling After a delicious breakfast - for those of you with boundless energy, bring your bicycles, and see the countryside around the Vale of the Red Horse. Amble along the Edgehill escarpment, (site of the Battle of Edgehill) round Compton Wynyates Castle, Brailles, Shipston-on-Stour, circling back through Honnington, Idlicote, Whatcote and into Oxhill.
Relaxing on the Farm
However, it is not all leisure on the farm. Hay making in June is an important part of the season. Wrapped and conventional hay is supplied to the local equine industry. Farming policy is on the change, with a strong emphasis on conservation and wildlife. This farm is one of the most important breeding sites in Warwickshire for curlew. Furthermore it has retained breeding populations of grey partridge, corn bunting, tree sparrow and brown hare.
